RIPE IPv4 transfer procedure & requirements within RIPE NCC

IPv4 PA subnet transfer:

Main requirements are:

  • the subnet allocated or the last transfer was 2 years ago;
  • the annual RIPE membership fee has been paid for the current year;
  • Both parties are LIRs
  • Parties signed Transfer agreement

How to initiate the transfer:

  1. Go to lirportal and log in to your LIR account
  2. Tap ‘requests’ and choose ‘request a transfer’
  3. Enter reg.id (example: lt.voldeta) or ORG (example: ORG-1234-RIPE) of the offering and receiving parties. Then click ‘next’. Please note that the offering party only can initiate an IPv4 transfer.
  4. Choose the IPv4 resource to transfer, check the duration and click ‘next’. You can split all types of IPv4 resources and transfer a part.
  5. Upload the offering and receiving parties company registration documents and a Transfer agreement. Company registration documents shall be issued no later than 6 months ago. If the TA has been signed by person authorised with a power of attorney, then the power of attorney shall be uploaded as well. Click ‘next’ when you finish.
  6. Leave your contact details and comments, then click ‘next’.
  7. Review the transfer request and confirm.
  8. Send the ticket number to the receiving party or your IPv4 broker.

IPv4 PI subnet transfer: both parties are not LIRs

Main requirements are:

  • The IPv4 transfer request shall be sent by sponsoring LIR of the offering party
  • The subnet allocated or the last transfer was 2 years ago;
  • Both parties have contracts with sponsoring LIRs
  • Parties signed a Transfer agreement

How to initiate the transfer:

  1. Go to lirportal and log in to your LIR account
  2. Tap ‘requests’ and choose ‘request a transfer’
  3. Enter reg.id (example: lt.voldeta) or ORG (example: ORG-1234-RIPE) of the offering and receiving parties. Then click ‘next’. Please note that the offering party only can initiate an IPv4 transfer.
  4. Choose the IPv4 resource to transfer, check the duration and click ‘next’. You can split all types of IPv4 resources and transfer a part.
  5. Upload the offering and receiving parties company registration documents, transfer agreement and contracts with sponsoring LIRs. Company registration documents shall be issued no later than 6 months ago. If the TA has been signed by person authorised with a power of attorney, then the power of attorney shall be uploaded as well. Click ‘next’ when you finish.
  6. Leave your contact details and comments, then click ‘next’.
  7. Review the transfer request and confirm.
  8. Send the ticket number to the receiving party or your IPv4 broker.

IPv4 legacy subnet transfer: keeping the legacy status

Main requirements are:

  • Each party is a LIR, or signed a sponsoring LIR Agreement for legacy internet resources holders, or signed a non-member service contract
  • Parties signed the Confirmation of Request for transfer of Legacy Internet Resources

How to initiate the transfer:

  1. Send a email to legacy@ripe.net. The email shall contain: the offering and receiving parties company registration documents, transfer agreement and contracts with sponsoring LIRs. Company registration documents shall be issued no later than 6 months ago. If the TA has been signed by person authorised with a power of attorney, then the power of attorney shall be uploaded as well.
  2. Send the ticket number to the receiving party or your IPv4 broker.

IPv4 legacy subnet transfer: convert to PA

Main requirements are:

  • Each party is a LIR, or signed a sponsoring LIR Agreement for legacy internet resources holders
  • Parties signed the Confirmation of Request for transfer of Legacy Internet Resources
  • Parties signed a Transfer agreement

How to initiate the transfer:

Use the instruction for PA subnets, during the ticket opening leave a comment that you would like to convert IPv4 to PA.
